California extends eviction moratorium through June
Residents who are behind on their rent payments because of the pandemic should contact their city to see if they qualify for rental assistance provided by the CARES Act. For starters, the Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino has $2.4 million in coronavirus relief for housing. See Redlands Community News. The City of San Bernardino also has an eviction prevention program. See sbcity.org
For Riverside County the Emergency Rental Assistance Program provides rental assistance grants to renter(s) who meet certain requirements and are in danger of eviction due to loss of income related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The grants do not have to be repaid and will cover up to three months’ rent at up to 100% of the unpaid past due amount. See riversideca.gov
